Decoupage Letters

These decoupage letters make the PERFECT gift for any child or teenager... especially if you know the color scheme of their room. They are so easy and fun to make!

Materials needed: kraft block letter(s), scrapbook paper, 1" foam paintbrush, Modge Podge Matte glue, ribbon, and scissors.

Step 1: Tear scrapbook paper into 1-3" pieces. I prefer having 3 different patterns.

Step 2: Take one of the cutouts you tore and determine where you want it on the letter. Using the foam paintbrush, apply a small amount of glue on the back of the cutout and place on the letter. Smooth out any bubbles and wrinkles.

Step 3: Apply rest of the cutouts using the same technique. I prefer to overlap my cutouts.

Step 4: Once the front and sides are complete, apply one to two coats of glue over the entire surface. Allow the surface to dry between coats.

Step 5: Allow letter to dry for at least an hour. Wrap a ribbon around one side for an extra touch.

Happy decoupaging!

Oreo Frogs

Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit... that's what I kept hearing while I was making Oreo Frogs! This is a perfect after school treat for your kiddos or a fun way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Step 1: Gather the following ingredients - one package of Oreos, one small bag of M&M's, one bag of tiny twist pretzels, and one container of white icing.

Step 2: Take one Oreo and put a small amount of white icing on half the cookie. Place two tiny twist pretzels on the white icing leaving 3/4 of the pretzel exposed as the feet.

Step 3: Turn the Oreo over and lay flat. Take two M&M's (same color) and place a small amount of icing on one side of each M&M. Place each M&M on the Oreos edge, icing side face down, to create the eyes.

Step 4: Lay on wax paper and repeat until the desired amount of Oreo Frogs are made. Let the frogs set for about an hour before handling... or should I say leaping. Enjoy!

50 Cents...

Want to make a fashionable bracelet... for only 50 cents? Umm... yes please! Check out this bracelet I made using chain from your local hardware store and a piece of black ribbon.

Step 1: Get a 2ft piece of chain from your local hardware store. You'll also need a strand of ribbon measuring 5ft long.

Step 2: Tie a double knot at one end of the chain leaving 3" of ribbon at one end. This extra ribbon will be used to tie your bracelet into a bow.

Step 3: Using the longer end of the ribbon, weave it through the chain until you reach the other end.

Step 4: Tie a another knot at this end. Again, leave 3" of ribbon at the end. Cut the remaining ribbon off.

Step 5: Wrap the chain around your wrist approximately 3 times and tie into a bow. That's it... you're done! All you need to do now is show off your DIY skills!
